THE DESTINATION
THE DESTINATION & where to find it
Corsica’s eastern plain is quieter than the island’s famous mountain interior or rough west coast. The landscape here is flat, green and warm, with long stretches of sand backed by dense forest.
Bagheera sits about 15 minutes north of the small town of Aleria, on a section of coastline that feels removed from the busier tourist areas. The resort’s own 5 km beach is one of the longest nude beaches in France. Beyond the sand, the 60-hectare grounds are covered in eucalyptus and other Mediterranean trees, giving plenty of shade even in high summer.
Aleria itself has a modest archaeological museum and the ruins of a Roman settlement. The wider east coast offers cycling routes along flat coastal roads, local wine producers and weekly markets selling Corsican charcuterie, cheese and honey.
THE EXPERIENCE
THE EXPERIENCE & what to expect
Daily life at Bagheera revolves around the beach and the forest. The shallow, calm sea is easy to wade into, which makes it popular with families who have young children. Older visitors and couples tend to walk further along the 5 km shoreline to find a quiet spot. Back from the sand, paths wind through the eucalyptus trees to the resort’s facilities.
Two restaurants handle meals at different price points. The beachfront restaurant offers a higher-end menu with sea views. La Paillote, the beach bar, serves wood-fired pizza and lighter fare at more economical prices. Half-board and full-board options are available for those who prefer not to cook. A grocery store on site stocks local Corsican products for self-catering.
Accommodation covers a wide range. There are 78 holiday rentals, including villas, chalets, mini-villas and mobile homes, sleeping up to six people. Around 250 camping pitches sit under the shade of the eucalyptus canopy, each with enough space for a tent, campervan or caravan. The resort holds a Green Key eco-tourism label, reflecting its approach to environmental management across the grounds.
Beyond the beach, a sauna, massage service, outdoor fitness are and yoga and aquagym sessions are available. Activities include windsurfing, fishing, hiking in the surrounding area and cycling along the coast.

GETTING THERE & what to know
getting there
Corsica has four airports: Bastia, Ajaccio, Calvi and Figari. Bastia Poretta is the closest to Bagheera, roughly one hour’s drive south along the east coast. Ferries from mainland France (Nice, Marseille, Toulon) and from Italy (Livorno, Genoa) arrive at Bastia or nearby ports.
A rental car is the most practical way to reach the resort and explore the island. Public transport on Corsica’s east coast is limited, with infrequent bus services between towns. The drive from Bastia follows the main coastal road, passing through flat farmland before reaching the Bravone area.

what to know
Bagheera is a clothes-free resort and nudity is expected in communal areas, at the beach and around the pools and facilities. Clothing is required in the main restaurant, shop, and reception. The resort is large enough that it can feel like a small village, with its own services.
Booking well in advance is recommended for July and August, especially for the rental accommodation. The Green Key eco-label means the resort follows environmental standards, so expect recycling points and water-saving measures. Mobile phone signal can be patchy in the forest areas, but there are free wifi points.

FAQ
most asked questions
Is Bagheera fully naturist or textile-optional?
Bagheera is a naturist resort. Nudity is the norm at the beach, around the grounds and at the facilities. Clothing is worn in the main restaurant, the shop, and the reception. If you are new to clothes-free travelling, the size of the resort and the long beach make it easy to find your own space.
Can I visit with young children?
Yes. The beach has shallow, calm water that is well suited to small children. Many families visit during the summer months. The large grounds also give children room to run around safely, and there are several playgrounds on the domain.
What is the closest airport to Bagheera?
Bastia Poretta airport is the nearest, about one hour's drive south along the coast. Ajaccio, Calvi and Figari airports also serve the island but involve longer transfers. A rental car is strongly recommended.
Do I need to book meals or can I self-cater?
Both options work. The resort has two restaurants and a grocery store stocked with local products. You can also add half-board or full-board to your booking. Camping pitches and rental units with kitchens make self-catering straightforward.
How big is the nude beach?
The beach stretches for about 5 km along the coast. It is one of the largest nude beaches in France. Even in peak season, you can walk a short distance to find a quiet stretch of sand.
Is there much to do beyond the beach?
The resort offers kayaking, paddle board, horse riding, fishing, hiking and cycling. On site there is a sauna, massage service, fitness, aqua gym and yoga. Aleria is 15 minutes away and has a Roman archaeological site worth a visit.
When is the best time to go for fewer crowds?
May to mid-June and mid-September to end October are quieter months with pleasant weather and lower prices. July and August are peak season, with the warmest sea temperatures but also the most guests. The resort is closed outside the summer season.
