THE DESTINATION
THE DESTINATION & where to find it
Southern Corsica delivers warm Mediterranean weather, clear water and a rugged landscape of granite hills dropping into the sea. La Chiappa sits on the Route de Palombaggia, a stretch of coast known for some of the island’s best beaches. Palombaggia Beach and Tahiti Beach are both nearby.
The domain occupies a 65-hectare protected nature reserve. Rocky headlands alternate with sandy coves across 3 km of coastline. Pine woodland and maquis scrub provide shade inland. Porto-Vecchio, the nearest town, is a 15-minute drive away and has a harbour, weekly markets and a medieval old quarter. Figari Airport is roughly 20 km south, making transfers short.
THE EXPERIENCE
THE EXPERIENCE & what to expect
Daily life at La Chiappa spreads across beach, pool and village. Two swimming pools (one heated) sit at the heart of the central area, with regular aquagym classes running through the week. The 3 km coastline means you can always find a quiet spot. Some coves have soft sand while others offer flat rocks and direct deep-water access for swimming.
The diving centre runs trips up to twice daily to the Cerbicales Islands, a marine reserve with good visibility. A separate water sports centre offers sailing, paddle boarding, catamaran, kayak, and windsurfing. On land, there are tennis courts, mini golf, beach volleyball, petanque and table tennis. Yoga sessions, horse riding, ceramics workshops and art classes round out the programme. Children have a dedicated mini-club with organised activities.
Three restaurants serve the village, two of them right on the waterfront. A mini-market stocks groceries, bread and everyday supplies, useful if you prefer to cook for yourself.
Bungalows come fitted with a kitchenette, fridge, kitchenware, dining area, bathroom with shower and a private terrace. They work well for couples or small families. Some are Type C units with air conditioning, a real advantage in the July and August heat. Sea-view villas offer more living space and better views for those willing to pay a premium. Camping pitches are available for tents, caravans and motorhomes, keeping the resort accessible at the budget end too.

GETTING THERE & what to know
getting there
Figari Airport is roughly 20 km from the resort. From there, a hire car is the most practical option. Porto-Vecchio is less than a 30-minute drive north.
If you’re driving from Bastia, take the Porto-Vecchio bypass and turn left at the sign for Pont de la Chiappa. Follow the road for 8 km, then turn left again. The final 2 km is a rough track to the entrance. Allow time for that last section, especially with a low vehicle.
No public transport runs directly to the resort. A car gives the best flexibility for reaching Porto-Vecchio, nearby beaches and the mountains inland.

what to know
La Chiappa is a clothes-free village. Nudity is expected in communal areas, at the pools and on the beaches. Cover up when going inside the restaurants and mini-market.
The resort is large. Walking from one end of the coastline to the other takes a while, so comfortable footwear helps. The final 2 km of access road is unpaved and can be bumpy. Mobile signal can be patchy in parts of the reserve.
Booking ahead is recommended for July and August. Diving trips should also be reserved in advance as they run to a fixed schedule with limited places.

FAQ
most asked questions
Is nudity required at La Chiappa?
Yes. La Chiappa is a clothes-free clothes-free resort. Nudity is the norm in communal areas, at the pools and on the beaches. You should cover up when inside the restaurants (not the terrace) and the mini-market.
How do I get there from Figari airport?
Figari is about 20 km away. A hire car is the easiest option, as no public transport runs to the site. The final 2 km of road is a rough unpaved track, so drive slowly.
What accommodation options are available?
You can choose from bungalows (some with air conditioning), sea-view villas or camping pitches. Bungalows include a kitchenette, fridge, bathroom and private terrace. Villas offer more space, while pitches suit those with tents or campervans.
Is La Chiappa suitable for families with children?
Yes. There is a dedicated children's mini-club and plenty of activities for younger visitors. The shallow sandy coves along the coastline are good for paddling. Families make up a visible part of the guest mix during summer.
Can beginners try the diving trips?
The diving centre runs twice-daily trips to the Cerbicales Islands. They offer introductory sessions and certification classes, but it's worth contacting them directly to ask about the availability. Spaces are limited, so book ahead during peak weeks.
When is the best time to visit?
June and September strike a good balance of warm weather, swimmable seas and fewer guests. July and August have the fullest programme but also the biggest crowds. The resort is open from early May to late October.
Are there places to eat on site?
Three restaurants operate within the village. Two are right on the waterfront. A mini-market sells groceries and basics, so you can also cook in your bungalow or villa kitchenette.
