THE DESTINATION

THE DESTINATION & where to find it

Hotel Budamar occupies a central position on Zipolite beach, midway along the stretch between the village’s western hotel cluster and the eastern cliffs of Playa del Amor. The property sits directly on the sand, with a private pool, garden terrace, and beach beds arranged in front. Seventeen rooms are built above and around the beach-facing common areas.

The policy is clothing-optional throughout. Guests may be fully clothed, topless, or nude in the pool, common areas, and restaurant spaces, with mutual respect expected across all options. The mix of people in various states of dress reflects its character: inclusive and unhurried rather than ideological.

THE EXPERIENCE

THE EXPERIENCE & what to expect

Budamar delivers on a simple promise. It is a clean, well-run small hotel on a well-known stretch of beach, with breakfast, a pool, and a beach bar and restaurant built into the stay. There is no complex programme to navigate. The staff are consistently described as easy-going and attentive without being formal.

The mid-beach position gives access to the full range of Zipolite without committing to either end. The quieter Playa del Amor end is a walk in one direction. The busy town center is a walk in the other. A garden terrace with sun loungers sits between the pool and the beach. Most guests move between these spaces across the day.

Rooms are comfortably fitted rather than luxurious. Each has a private balcony facing the Pacific, air conditioning, in-room WiFi, a safe, and mosquito nets. Continental breakfast is served daily and included in the rate. The beach bar and restaurant cover lunch and dinner for those who want to stay close. The overall price is in the mid-range for Zipolite, which makes Budamar one of the more accessible options on the beach for guests who want direct sand access and a pool without paying at the premium end of the market.
