THE DESTINATION
THE DESTINATION & where to find it
La Vida Soñada sits outside Gaianes, a small town north of Alcoy in the inland hills of Alicante. The 2-hectare property is well removed from the tourist corridor on the coast, an hour to the east. The vegetation here is abundant: fruit trees, flowering plants, and the near-constant sound of birds create a setting that bears no resemblance to the arid coastal strip most visitors associate with the Costa Blanca. The clothes-free areas cover the pool terrace, lawns, and all outdoor relaxation spaces. The main house holds three en-suite rooms, with a separate bungalow, offering more independence. The focus is on quiet, unhurried stays and direct contact with the surrounding landscape.
THE EXPERIENCE
THE EXPERIENCE & what to expect
Life at La Vida Soñada slows down quickly. The outdoor areas offer several spots to settle: a sunbed by the pool, a shaded seat in the gardens, or a quiet corner with a long view. The pool is 12 by 8 metres, outdoor and unheated, best from late spring through early autumn. For off-season evenings, the sauna and hot tub are both available. A tennis court and a petanque pitch give active guests an alternative. The hike to Sierra de Benicadell begins at the property gate, and owners Valerie and Luc, both active runners and mountain bikers, can point you toward the best trails in the surrounding natural parks.
Breakfast is included and generous. There is no restaurant. An honesty bar provides cold drinks throughout the day, and a shared guest kitchen covers self-catering for those who want it. Meals beyond breakfast mean a short drive to the nearest town.
The accommodation divides into two distinct options. The three rooms in the main house are spacious, each with a private bathroom. One sits on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. The two others are on the first floor with access to a wide shared terrace, a good spot for morning coffee or catching the first sun. The bungalow is a separate structure with two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a private terrace. It works well for couples who want more independence or for groups of up to four. The property is adults only.

GETTING THERE & what to know
getting there
La Vida Soñada is in Gaianes, north of Alcoy, roughly halfway between Alicante and Valencia. From either city, take the A-7 motorway and exit at junction 432. The property is about 5 kilometres from the exit. Alicante Airport (ALC) is the closest of the two international airports, around 1 hour away. Valencia Airport (VLC) is about 1 hour and 15 minutes in the other direction. Both airports are served by low-cost carriers from across Europe. Connections from outside Europe typically route through Madrid or Barcelona. Public transport to the area is limited: a train to Xativa or a bus to Alcoy, followed by a taxi, is possible but inconvenient. A hire car is strongly recommended, particularly if you want to explore the surrounding region.
